Firestorm is a massive alliance guild open to all with about 400 members and about 100 80's raring to go.
If you're levelling a toon or trying to find a group for heroics to gear up after ding 80, then this is a really nice, friendly place to do it in! Ditto if you're one of those players that likes people to be around at 4am.
If you've pretty much exhausted the heroics, and are looking for something slightly more challenging, our raiding groups run several raids a week. We are by no means a 'hardcore raiding guild' but if you do intend to raid with us at some point after joining, you will be expected to fulfill certain criteria and will have to be promoted into one of our 'raiding' ranks:-
- you to be able to play your class well and get results. Some of the people in our raiding team aren't the best geared by any means, but they get the job done/hold aggro/grasp tacs fast.
- you have geared, gemmed and enchanted your toon with the best possible stats for your class and spec. People turning up for raids wearing their shiny new helm that they can't afford to gem up yet isn't cool. Ditto wearing dps gear for tanking. We like it if people have read up about their class and care about being the best they can be.
- You must be able to install Ventrillo and Deadly Boss Mods. We have a firestorm server and like people to be able to hear instructions.
- Once you have signed up for raids on the guild forum, we expect people to turn up at least 15 minutes before it starts, with pots, buff food, flasks, repaired, and in my case lots of glacial salmon for Stell
- You need to say, in advance, if there is any reason you need to leave raids early (barring emergencies etc ofc!). There is nothing more demoralising than having one person leave after 2, 5, even 10 wipes at a boss and breaking up guild morale. The wipes are going to happen. What on earth is your gold for? We wipe until we kill. End of. If you leave raids before we have decided to leave as a group, you wont be invited back.
- Big personalities and a sense of humour are great. And well done if you' ve fully researched tacs. However any suggestions should be whispered to the raid leader at the allocated time and not posted in raid chat unless invited to.
- You must always ALWAYS shout 'FOR THE DONKEY!!!!' before engaging ANY boss.

Generally, if you join the guild, welcome and we hope you have an awesome time, but you will have to participate in a scheduled test-run heroic or two before being promoted to raiding rank. This is just to protect us from wasting potentially an hour or more of realising you can't cut it, finding a replacement, summoning, running over tacs again.....etc. Players who show promise are invited to raids on the calendar.
There is generally a raid going on every night from about 7.30 gmt (8.30 realm), but times may vary. There is no expectation for you to attend any number of raids a week, but we ask that if you sign up you do show up.
All of us are quite new to raiding and working through it together. Currently as a guild we have completed:
Naxx 10 normal
OS 10 (+with
OS 25 (we do this as often as we can to give players with less gear a chance to raid)
VOA 10/25
Onyxia 10
Ulduar: Siege and Antechamber --> currently Assembly of Iron
Coming up:
1. Naxx 10 teams x 2 for players to have their first experience of raiding. The raiding team will be split with a few going along to each and any level 80s will be welcome to sign up on the forum.
2. We farm onyxya 10 every week but are considering an ony25 to replace our next OS25.
3. Continuing progression through Ulduar. and TOC10 Currently we can bash through Ignis and siege quite quickly but from there take each boss as it comes.
4. Malygos eoe. We've struggled a bit with this dude for some reason but will continue batting our heads against it until it clicks.
Happy to recruit all classes, invitation to the guild isn't necessarily an invitation to raid however. For raiding we are especially looking to recruit:-
Droods, both the boomkin (omg yes hit) and the raid heal variety.
Shaman's of all flavours.
We have two of the most awesome Pali tanks ever that attend most raids and a kick ass warrior tank but could do with another for when we want two groups running.
All other classes welcome but if you're a DK, expect a bit of friendly stick when you get ginvited.
We are currently full for mages wanting to raid, but we are due to start up a new raiding group soon, and if you think you're up to it, please come join us, get a feel and say hi
